We do not use Outlook as our email package. However a client has sent us a CD with an Outlook folder (.pst file) which we need to access.

The PC the file needs to be loaded on only has Outlook Express. I found a machine with Outlook so I was able to open the file in Outlook and export it to an Outlook Express account. This has created a .dbx file.

Is it possible to copy the .dbx file onto another machine and somehow import the file into an Outlook Express account? Outlook Express wants me to select an account to import from.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Suz

It was Outlook Express 6.

Here is the solution:

When I copied the .dbx file into the relevant Application Data/Identities folder with the other .dbx files (ie inbox.dbx...etc) it still didn't work.

The trick is to create the folder (using the same name - eg if the file is called abc.dbx create a folder called "abc".) in Outlook Express, copy the .dbx file into the Identities folder and replace the .dbx file created by the new folder.

Many thanks for your reply.
