Good Day. I had some writings for stories, and there associated notes, and outline files, plus several poems on a scsi Zip 100 disk. I had finished a session, closed out Word, but left the disk in the drive. I was in process of logging off the computer, when I had a scsi timeout error. XP gave me an error box stating it had trouble reading and closing the files. It asked if I wished to assign a pass word to the files. I said yes, and assigned a password.

Later, when I wished to access the files, Word could not recognize the files. I looked all over XP for a section or area that dealt with passwords for a disk, and could not find any to delete from the disk. I employed a data recovery program, and that set up the entire 96 meg of the disk as a Word document. Most of the pages have anywhere from a single ASCII character to an entire page of misc. ASCII characters. My data is imbedded within on a few of the pages. I recovered some of my data, working my way up to page 591, but Word continues to load pages as I move up. When Word gets somewhere close to about 5000 pages loaded, it becomes inoperable and hangs up.

Is there a way to delete entire pages, to include all data and page breaks? Is there a way to have Word delete multiple pages, say 1 to 100 at a time? Then as Word is loading, I can be deleting. Eventually I will get to my data.

The program I used to recover data is Restorer 2000 Pro. Also, I did turn in an XP data report, and a support rep contacted me, but the procedure given was not a help to my situation.

If you have any suggestions to my above listed problems, please contact (bob4fred@msn.com) your help will be appreciated. Thank you. Robert Frederickson.
