Word Freezes

Hi

My Word program has suddenly started to freeze when I try open it. I hace de-fragged, opened in safe mode, tried to open from Desktop, Start >Programs and Win Explorer to no avail. Obviously I have to reboot to access pc again.

A possible solution that can do little harm:

While Word is closed, use the Explorer to search for normal.dot and rename it to old normal.dot.

Open Word and see if your problem has been resolved. If it has it is because normal.dot has been corrupted. If it doesn't work you can always restore the original normal.dot.

Normal.dot is the template upon which all new documents are based.

old normal.dot has sorted it
