When I open one of my word documents, the date on the bottom automatically changes to today's date.
How do I prevent this auto-update?
Thanks
Jack

Click insert - date and time. Make sure Update Automatically is unchecked.:)

In response to the previous response. The Automatically update is not checked. However, it does update each time I load the document.

Hi Jack
Open the document and click Alt+F9. This should show up {TIME\@"dMMMM"} or something like it depending on how you have the date set up. This is an inserted field. Just highlight is and delete, save your file and you should no longer have the date entered automatically.
Let me know if this helps

Attempted your suggestion to no avail. If I go into Preview and do the Alt F9 I see what you are saying. But, I cannot edit in Preview. When I am in the document and do Alt F9 I get nothing.
Thanks

Shelly & All
I figured it out. I went into View - Header and Footer. Then I went into one of the footers and highlighted the "Revision: Date" and deleted that.
That deleted the automatic updates from the document.
Thanks all for you help.
