I work with Word documents from many different sources each with their own style and my job is to put the documents into a particular Word template with its own styles.

Many of the documents come to me with their own styles applied and many have tables.

I want to be able to copy the text and tables from one document to my template and retain the table formatting but not bring in any of the styles from the source document.

I know how to copy and paste without formatting but that doesn't bring tables in. I use that all the time when there aren't tables in the document but can't when I don't want to lose the tables.

Is there another trick/way to do what I'm trying to do?

When you copy and paste at the bottom of the page there is a small box called paste option (looks like a clip board). If you click on the pull down arrow and click Match Destination Sourse it will keep it the same as the original. Hope this helps.
