Is it possible to find all the words inside forward slashes and replace them with words in another Word document?
For example in the first document first line

horse /elephant/ pig monkey /donkey/ mouse..............

then in the second document

ant feet horse hooves ........................

I want to replace /elephant/ with /ant feet/ donkey with /horse hooves/ and continue replacing in the same way

maybe I should mention that the words in the first document to be replaced contain punctuation and numbers also

Thank you,
bkwins

Can i ask why you want to do this?

Is it for a quiz?

Here's the full scoop. I am studying Chinese in China so I bought an electronic dictionary. This electronic dictionary can download extra specialty dictionaries and other things from the company's website. None of the dictionaries have any pinyin in them (the phonetic romanization) so I wanted to add them. When I open the downloadable dictionaries on my computer each entry has a portion of the definition dedicated to the way to pronounce the English word. This phonetic help is situated between two forward slashes. I already have software to extract the Chinese from the list and convert it to pinyin so that is where I would get the second document. So what I want to do is replace the English phonetic help which I don't need with the Chinese phonetic help which I do need.
Thank you,
