Hi all

I am creating a very simple number list.
I have the numbers defined as style Bullet 1.

Under Topic A, I have:
1.
2.

Under Topic B, I have:
3.

I try using the Smart Tag to restart numbering on the number 3, but it ignores the command.

I have not had this problem with Word XP and I can't find anything under Tools, Options.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks very much....

Not sure if this is what you mean or not, but here goes...

If the next set of bullets doesn't start at 1 again, select the line where the incorrectly numbered bullet is, select Format, Select Bullets & Numbering, make sure you are on the tab labled Numbered and then click Customize. Within this screen you can select what number you want to start the selected list at.

Hope this helps

Yes, Dee, this will work; but, because my number list are styles, I was hoping that I wouldn't have to manually change the starting number.

However, in order to complete the document, I will probably take that route, for now. Thanks for the input.
