My Irish club is printing up a song book of the songs we like and I was elected to set it up before it goes to the printer.
Since the book's size is 1/2 sheet (5 1/2 X 8 1/3)
the printer asked that we place the same song next to each other on each page so he could print 2 books at a time.
ex:
Grace Grace
qwer qwwr qwer qwwr
asd zxcvb asd zxcvb
I have set it up as 2 columns.
But, for each song I have to fuss with the margins and the spacing between the left "page" and the right "page".
Is there an easier way?

How about 3 colums with the middle column being very narrow and represent the gutter.
The default value in a cell is for the text to go from edge to edge within the cell. You can apply paragraph formatting to the each paragraph within the cell that will move the text inward and be where you want it. Use the paint brush to copy formatting. The top and bottom paragraphs on each page will have different formatting because they will include differt top and bottom indentations. The before and after spacing is measured in points. There are 72 points per inch.
Using Borders and Shading, you can remove the boders.

thanks, I never thought of using a third column for the space.
I understood what you said about using the paragraph formatting withing the cells.
But, I did not understand how to use the paintbrush. I don't think I ever used paintbrush before.
Could you please explain?

When you have a paragraph formatted just the way you want, highlight it all including the paragraph symbol, and click on the paintbrush. Highlight the area you want to apply the formatting to, including the paragraph mark, and it is done. The paintbrush copies formatting, not content.
If you have many separate areas you want to format, follow the instructions above except double-click on the paintbrush. You can now format as many separate areas as you want. When you are finished either click on the paintbrush again or hit the escape key and resume.

I didn't mention that if you do not include the paragraph mark, you are copying character formatting and not paragraph formatting.
