Hi Does any one know why word macro runs slower on windows xp machine as compared to windows nt machine? is there any fix for it?
I have one word macro used to take 5 minutes to run now the same macro with the same data takes 14 minutes?
I know this is excel board but i am just trying to find answer to this one as i know lot of excel users are word user too?

As I said at MrExcel, I d try going to the VB Editor by hitting Alt-F11, then from the Debug menu, choose Compile.
If that does not work, ajayp, just say so and I ll get a *real coder* in here to help.

HI...
You have mentioned that the machines are windows xp & nt. But you have not mentioned the word version 97 or 2000 or 2002...
I feel you would have checked this out , but just in case see the available ram on the xp machine.....
& another important point, in case you are accessing something from the network then that too may be a problem....
