dos quickedit?

I use several DOS programs (on XP Pro), and have set shortcuts to them on my desktop. I want to enable quickedit. But I find that the properties are different on the different shortcuts... some have the "quickedit" option, and some don't. What's the difference? Why do some shortcuts have that option and some don't? Is there a particular way to generate a shortcut which will have that option?????

Thanks, vonpookie, but that only seems to apply to a cmd window, not a shortcut. My question is, if I make a shortcut to a DOS program, why is the quickedit option sometimes not there?
