I can send but not receive HELP PLEASE

I had problems with my email in that it required me to enter my password every time I wanted to send. I deleted my account (I only have one) and set it up again. However, now I can receive ok but when I try to send an email I get the following message "The message could not be sent" "You do not have any accounts configured for sending email. Please verify your account configuration"

But I can receive. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
