When everything looks right, and you just KNOW that your formula is right, but your numbers STILL won't add up...
Times 1 Fix
Type a 1 in any cell, even in another workbook if you like.
Copy the cell that you typed the 1 into.
Select the "bad" cells.
Hit Edit-Paste Special, choose Multiply and then OK.
This process forces Excel to see numbers as numbers, instead of as text. Having your data seen as text is not uncommon and often happens when you bring data from an external source like a web page or database, but also occurs right in Excel too.
